Prayer is one of the four tenets of a Dynamic Catholic.  I turned contemplative when I read the following definition of Prayer on Finding New Life in the Spirit:

Prayer is simply being present with God. Our prayer can take a variety of forms: praising and worshipping him for his own sake; thanking him for what he has done for us; asking him to do things for us or for others; listening to him to speak for us.  Sometimes it is simply being quiet before him, silent in his presence.

The Mass, the most perfect prayer, encompasses all forms of prayer.
