Harden Not Your Hearth

“Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God. Encourage yourselves daily while it is still ‘today,’ so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin. We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end.” (Hebrews 3:12-14)

The heart is metaphorically referred as the will, which should seek God as the human ultimate happiness. An effective will is always pointing to God, our creator and ultimate goal, and moving us toward Heaven. An evil and unfaithful will is disoriented and pursues objectives inferior to God including the deceit of sin, which may unfortunately lead to loss of Faith and even subsequent Apostasy.

We should preserve the state of grace received in the Baptism till the end of our lives. However, if we commit mortal sin we should seek as early as possible the sacrament of Penance to tame our evil and unfaithful heart by Grace. The Holy Spirit returns to our Soul to operate again in us and thru us according to the Holy Spirit’s Gifts and Fruits. Keep your soul as a Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit through the sacraments, particularly the Eucharist, prayers, primarily the Holy Mass, and good deeds, such as Works of Mercy. Brethren, Be Merciful, and keep the state of grace and Awareness of the End of Times.
