Prophecy: Message Inspired by the Holy Spirit

Prophecy is a charism to speak a message from God inspired by the Holy Spirit, and consistent with the Scriptures and the official teaching of the Church. “In every age the Church has received the Charism of Prophecy to be scrutinized but not scorned,” explained Cardinal Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict XVI.

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)

“Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22)

A prophetic word can change you, because prophecy edifies, encourages and comforts.

Prophecy explains the will of God for the present, and shows the right future path.  Private revelations the Church has approved, like in Fatima, Portugal, helped us to understand and respond to The Signs of the Times. The Church is under great darkness, persecution and insidious attacks.
