“Those who pass through a Holy Door during this jubilee year will receive a Plenary Indulgence, which removes all of the Temporal Punishment for sins committed up to that time — provided the recipient also goes to Confession, receives Comunion, and prays for the pope.” Refer to the article Jubilee of Mercy.
The practice of the Holy Door is an alternative to any of the following practices:
- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at least half an hour.
- Spiritual reading of the Sacred Scriptures at least half an hour.
- Pious exercise of the Stations of the Cross.
- Recitation of Our Lady’s Rosary in the church, the oratory, or a religious community, or a pious association.
Therefore, a devotee may replace the Holy Door practice with one of the practices enumerated above.
