Succinct definition of legal terms
Indictment — a formal charge or accusation of a serious crime.
Unsealing Indictments — a sealed indictment stays non-public until it is unsealed. This can be done for a number of reasons. It may be unsealed, for example, once the indicted person is arrested.
Blackmail — the action, treated as a criminal offense, of demanding payment or another benefit from someone in return for not revealing compromising or damaging information about them.
Money Laundering — the process of concealing the origins of money obtained illegally by passing it through a complex sequence of banking transfers or commercial transactions.
