THIRD STATION

Jesus falls for the first time

Consider this first fall of Jesus under the cross. His flesh was torn by the scourges; his head crowned with thorns, and he had shed a great deal of blood, so that he was so weak that he could barely walk; at the same time he carried that enormous weight on his shoulders and the soldiers pushed him; so that many times he fainted and fell on this path.
