Tribulation is swiftly approaching. The signs have been foretold, the prophecies have been revealed, and are now rapidly showing themselves without doubt. What will you do? Bury your head in the sand or stand up for Christ and fulfill the great commission. Prepare your house and get yourself right with Christ, or it will overtake you like a thief in the night.
Tribulation is a time of trial and temptation, and many persons are defeated because they are not prepared to confront tribulation. Jesus warns, “Watch and pray not to fall into temptation.” He wants the test not to find us asleep, but vigilant in prayer.
“With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.” (Ephesians 6:18)
Prayer helps us to “be alert” in the presence of God, the bad timing will not take us unexpectedly, and depression and discouragement will not defeat us. Jesus prayed long in Gethsemane before his passion. The Gospel affirms he sweat blood in terror, but when the soldiers came to arrest him, they found him so “self-owned,” that just by uttering his name, the soldiers fell on the ground.
The daily reading of the Bible clears the horizon, keeps us in a vivid relationship of faith with our father and allows us to sink into the swamp of tribulation. A Bible man will emerge victorious.
