Trump’s Congress Battle For The Election; Who’s Still On His Side?

After President Trump’s assertion that he is not considering imposing martial law, the prospect of successfully challenging the election result and the best path to doing this have seemed obscured to many people. However by their words and actions, the Trump team remain confident and determined to see the legal challenge and congressional challenge of the general election to the end. In an interview on Dec 20, President Trump said, “we’re getting closer and closer” to successfully challenging the election results.

In this episode we explore how contesting the swing states electoral votes for Biden in Congress could ultimately play out. We explore how solid Trump’s congressional support base is— Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, and others—remain staunchly behind the president. We also consider, in broad context, what the Presidents overall chances of success are.
