And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and offered up his Spirit.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom. And the earth trembled, and the rocks were rent, and the graves were opened. And the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And after his resurrection, he came out of the tombs and went to the holy city and appeared to many people.

When the governor and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what had happened, they were very afraid and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
