The Biblical Rapture

_______________________________________________________________

The Rapture entails the return of Christ and the gathering up of his elect. This doctrine is central to believers, and the first three passages in the New Testament provide explicit information about this event.

Matthew 24:30-31 says all living people will see Christ coming in the clouds, and with a trumpet call, he will send his angels throughout the earth to gather his elect.

1 Corinthians 15 defends the future resurrection of believers. When the trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised, and the living believers will be changed.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 assures the Lord will return from heaven with a trumpet call and the dead in Christ will rise first and then the living in Christ will rise second, and both groups will join the Lord in the air.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 assures the Rapture will occur after a great apostasy and the antichrist revelation.

Matthew 24:42-51 tells us to keep prepared for Christ Second Coming and expect it at any time.
