Sister Faustina Visits Hell

An angel led Sister Faustina to Hell and she observed its common tortures:

Loss of God

Perpetual remorse of conscience

Perpetual condition

Fire penetrating souls without destroying them

Continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell

Constant company of Satan

Horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies

There were also special tortures for particular souls, torments of the senses, related to particular sins. Sister Faustina narrated the tortures in Diary 741 at the command of God, so that no soul may find an excuse by saying there is no Hell, or that nobody has ever been there, and so no one can say what is like.

Sister Faustina found an intriguing commonality among most souls: a disbelief in Hell while they were on Earth. She invites us to pray for the conversion of sinners and plead Christ’s Infinite Mercy upon them. Brethren, be vigilant if you do not believe in the existence of Hell.
