Humanity has achieved remarkable technological development, but one-third of humanity is starving, and morals and ethics are deplorable.
Exerting a powerful role in world improvement has been a part of the Catholic mission. For example, the Church has broken educational barriers and has led the care of the sick and the poor. Unfortunately, Catholics have hurt the world, for example the Inquisition and the priesthood’s sexual abuse. Yet the Catholic Church has been a powerful universal charity for two millenniums.
We seem obsessed with our survival and ignore our mission, but Catholics can make a huge humanitarian contribution, like hunger eradication worldwide.
