Responsibility for Climate Change

______________________________________________________________

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns, mainly caused by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels.

The West polluted the environment, then exported its emissions. Today it preaches climate action. Palki Sharma says: Saving the earth is a collective responsibility, but shouldn’t rich countries pay up before they preach?

Environmentalism is a broad philosophy, ideology, and social movement regarding concerns for environmental protection and improvement of the health of the environment. This health seeks to incorporate the impact of changes to the environment on humans, animals, plants and non-living matter.

Environmentalism may be referred to as a movement to control pollution or protect plant and animal diversity. Environmentalism is an attempt to balance relations between humans and the various natural systems on which they depend in such a way that all the components are accorded a proper degree of sustainability.

Environmentalism arose primarily from concerns in the late 19th century about the protection of the countryside in Europe and the wilderness in the United States and the health consequences of pollution during the Industrial Revolution.

The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe, particularly Britain, and the United States, in the period from 1760 to 1820 and 1820 to1840.  The first phase of the industrial revolution led to iron, coal and steam technology, the expansion of railroads and the mass production of textiles. The second phase of the industrial revolution began in America and then spread to Europe. The American industrial revolution began in New England. Several large-scale textiles mills were established in the region during the late 18th and early 19th century which quickly led to widespread industrialization in the region.

Environmentalism arose after the Industrial Revolution. How much responsibility should the West bear for pollution and consequent climate change? How much responsibility should the globalization of the economy bear? Who are contemporarily the main polluters in the world? Responsibility for climate change is a complex issue.

The whole world should reduce pollution to control the environment and climate change.

10 Ways How to Reduce Air Pollution:

  1. Use of public transport: Use Public Transportation to Reduce Air Pollution. Facts and figures don’t lie — our transportation needs produce 30% of all carbon dioxide gas emissions.
  2. Buy Energy Efficient Vehicles: When purchasing a vehicle, consider fuel efficient and alternative fuel vehicles.
  3. Consider “going green”: “Going Green” means practicing an environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible lifestyle as  well as making decisions to help protect the environment and sustain natural resources.
  4. Plant a Garden: Planting tree will help us get enough fresh air we need.
  5. Turn Off Lights When not in Use: Don’t waste energy and money. Be very careful and responsible to turn off lights at home when you or your family members are not at home or the lights are not in use.
  6. Avoid Plastic Bags: Because they are very hardly to decompose.
  7. Make use of Solar Energy: Solar power can save a ton of energy for you and, on top of that, it could also end up saving you a  lot of cash in the long run as well.
  8. Always Use Recyclable Products: Buy recyclable products if you have access to them and the ability to choose them.
  9. Quit Smoking: Smoking is very hazardous to health and the people around you.
  10. Educate Your Companions: Let the people around you know about how they can contribute to clean air initiatives and educate them about all of the different ways.
