Twenty Seventh Letter to the Filipinos

The Comforter is personally in our souls, as He is in Heaven, to pour on us His Gifts if we correspond to His love. The Gifts will bear Fruits, if we surrender to the Spirit of God. The article Holy Spirit’s Gifts and Fruits introduces His Power.  The presence of the Holy Spirit in our souls is even more amazing than the presence of Crist in the Eucharist, because it will end on the last day whereas the Holy Ghost will remain eternally in our souls.

That’s an excerpt of the article “Soul: Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit”.

The Nineteenth Letter to the Filipinos introduces Knowledge and Wisdom and this article covers other Gifts of the Holy Spirit Understanding, Counsel and Fortitude.

Wisdom makes the soul responsive to the Counselor in the contemplation of God to use God’s ideas to judge His creation. Wisdom is the desire to contemplate God’s ideas, whereas Understanding allows us to penetrate such ideas to become convinced of the truths of the Faith.

Counsel is the sanctifying gift of supernatural prudence, right judgment, spiritual intuition, and transfer of control to the Holy Spirit for quick response in an unexpected or difficult situation. The gift requires the state of grace to enable us to see and choose the best course of action for the Glory of God and our own salvation.
